First and foremost, I conduct a thorough assessment of the patient’s pain, considering its intensity, location, duration, and characteristics. This helps me understand the nature of the pain and identify any underlying causes. Additionally, I assess the patient’s medical history, current medications, and potential co-existing conditions that may influence pain perception and management.
Based on the assessment findings, I develop an individualized pain management plan tailored to the patient’s specific needs and preferences.
