One common pediatric neurologic disorder is epilepsy, which involves recurring seizures. I am well-versed in recognizing the signs and symptoms of seizures in children, such as changes in behavior, loss of consciousness, and abnormal movements. I understand the importance of accurately documenting seizure activity and keeping detailed seizure logs to assist in diagnosis and management.
Another neurologic disorder that affects children is cerebral palsy, which is characterized by impaired muscle coordination and movement. I am knowledgeable about the different types of cerebral palsy, such as spastic, dyskinetic, ataxic, and mixed. I understand the importance of early intervention and appropriate therapies to maximize mobility and minimize associated complications.
