One common gastrointestinal complication that I frequently encounter is chemotherapy-induced nausea and vomiting (CINV). This side effect can be quite distressing for patients and may even lead to treatment delays or discontinuation. As an oncology nurse, it is crucial to have a thorough understanding of the various antiemetic medications available and to be able to tailor the treatment plan to each patient’s specific needs.
